Sammy Guevara celebrates beating Miro for the TNT Championship on AEW Dynamite

Sammy Guevara won the TNT Championship in the main event of an emotional edition of AEW Dynamite.

The rising star defeated reigning champ Miro in an energetic match to bring a special episode to an end as the company remembered the late, great Brodie Lee in his hometown of Rochester, New York.

The Redeemer looked strong early on, dominating the Spanish God with his strength – but the challenger withstood the onslaught and was eventually able to build some momentum, even if Fuego del Sol’s attempted interference didn’t go as planned.

Eventually, he sent Miro into the exposed turnbuckle, using his opponent’s dastardly tactics against him as he hit the GTH and followed it with a 630 for the win.

Given Brodie Lee’s history with the TNT Title, it seems fitting the championship changed hands on a show dedicated to his memory.

As part of the tribute to the late star, the Dark Order tried to put their issues to the side to honour their friend as they teamed up with Orange Cassidy to face the Hardy Family Office in a bumper 16-man tag match.

The group nearly imploded, but Brodie Jr., Amanda Huber, Anna Jay and Tay Conti were able to inspire a united front.

In the end, Uno and Stu Grayson his the Fatality for the win, with Pres10 Vance holding Brodie Jr. on his shoulders as they celebrated in an emotional moment.

MJF crosses a line, Arn Anderson talks about carrying a gun and more

It was a wild night for AEW Dynamite fans, kicking off with a fantastic bout between Adam Cole and Jungle Boy, with CM Punk joining Excalibur, Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone on commentary for the night.

Cole had to rely on a low blow to leave Jack Perry open to the Boom which secured the win in a brilliant match.

The Elite joined the winner for a promo after the bell, before Kenny Omega took over and played down the idea of Bryan Danielson getting a rematch any time soon.

The American Dragon branded his rival ‘Kenny No-Balls’ to the delight of the crowd, before challenging any member of the Elite to a match on Rampage, and bringing out Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, Frankie Kazarian, Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt for back-up after things threatened to get out of hand.

Lee Johnson and Cody Rhodes beat Matt Sydal and Dante Martin, but the real story here came afterwards when Rhodes called out Malakai Black only for Arn Anderson to take over.

He called Cody soft, claiming he’d give up his car to a criminal whereas Arn would pull out a gun and take action.

Delivering an amazing line before leaving with Lee, he said: ‘I’m Arn Anderson, and all that it implies, and I’ll be damned if I coach a loser.’

In what wasn’t much of anything, Jon Moxley, Darby Allin and Eddie Kingston beat Bear Country and Anthony Greene, with a nice moment coming afterwards when Sting held up a Brodie Lee sign.

Elsewhere, Dan Lambert and The Men of the Year cut a fine promo after their win over Chris Jericho and Jake Hager on Rampage.

Tay Jay got a win of The Bunny and Penelope Ford in a fun bout, which should settle their feud.

Finally, MJF called himself the number one rising star in AEW and insisted he could give WWE executive Bruce Pritchard a call if he doesn’t get the world title opportunity he thinks he deserves.

Darby Allin had heard enough and headed to the ring, but the villain wasn’t done and even referenced his rival’s straight edge lifestyle, revealing it’s because of the death of his uncle in a car crash early in Allin’s life.

Darby insisted he wouldn’t be broken mentally, which led to MJF storming off after this feud got started in an utterly brutal way.
