‘There isn’t anything to ruin! It’s so crazy,’ he explained.
‘It’s f**king hilarious to me,’ he added on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. ‘I do have this Twitter account and I see how often Spider-Man is trending and it’s people freaking out about a thing, and I’m just like, “Guys, guys, guys.”
‘I wish I could be able to speak to everyone and say, “I recommend that you chill.”’
Going on to specifically address the theory, he added: ‘I can’t speak for anything else apart from myself, like they might be doing something! But I ain’t got a call.’
Well it seems that theory’s officially shut down.
Tom Holland is set to return as Spider-Man in the upcoming film, alongside Zendaya as MJ, and Jacob Batalon as Ned.
However, it seems it’s not to be, especially after Tom also shut down the idea.
Asked about the rumours by Esquire, he said: ‘No, no, they will not be appearing in this film.
‘Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. But as of yet, no. It’ll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we’ve been making.’
Sony Pictures were more cryptic however, telling ET Canada: ‘Those rumoured castings are not confirmed’.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is set for release on December 17.
