Andy Robertson believes Billy Gilmour has a ‘huge future’ after the
Chelsea midfielder impressed for Scotland in their goalless draw with England at Wembley on Friday evening.
England struggled to find their rhythm in their second Group D match as Scotland were able to secure a point.
Gilmour was handed his first senior start for Scotland for the fixture and was named man of the match for his excellent performance at the heart of their midfield.
The result leaves Scotland needing a win against Croatia in their final Group D match on Tuesday, while England must beat Czech Republic to finish top of the group.
Asked where he rated Gilmour’s performance, Robertson told ITV: ‘Right up there.
‘I spoke to him in hotel today and just looked at him and to be fair to Billy nothing fazes him.

‘That’s why I believe he can have as many caps as he wants for Scotland.
‘He’s got a huge future ahead but the here and now is pretty good as well.
‘Today him and Callum McGregor, both of them in the holding role, were magnificent.’
Speaking about Gilmour’s performance after the game, Scotland manager Steve Clarke said: ‘We knew before we put him in he can play.
‘It’s just getting the right moment, tonight was his big moment and he took it and no one was surprised by it, certainly not in our camp.’
