Arizona Cardinals star Kyler Murray is out here showing off his legs and tearing the Miami Dolphins defense to shreds.
To start it off, the second-year quarterback decides to go for it on 4th and 1 from the Cardinals’ own 46-yard line. On a read option, he keeps it himself, juking out of a tackle attempt behind the line of scrimmage before taking it 27 yards down to the Dolphins 27-yard line.
A few plays later, from the 12-yard line, Murray would do it again, this time just following his blockers off of the read option and walking the ball into the end zone.
Murray has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this season in his second year in the NFL, and this drive alone shows why.
The budding Cardinals star’s ability to both pass and run the ball effectively creates matchup and coverage nightmares for defenses.
This is the new age of dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL, with the likes of Murray, Tua Tagovailoa, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson able to run the ball as effectively as they can pass it and enjoy running the read option.
