Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has still not spoken to club owner Roman Abramovich since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in January, despite his remarkable success, but insists that the radio silence from his employer is fine.

Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard as manager in January and has guided the Blues into the Champions League and FA Cup final, while they are up to fourth in the Premier League and in a good position to qualify for the Champions League through that route as well.

Despite this incredible impact, Tuchel has not once spoken to Chelsea owner Abramovich, with his contract only running until the end of next season.

This may sound strange, but the German insists otherwise and says he has plenty of contact with the Chelsea board, with no need to speak to the owner.

‘No, absolutely not,’ Tuchel said on whether the lack of a conversation is odd. ‘I’m in touch with the board, I’m in touch with all people who are in charge and I have absolutely no regrets.

‘I am pretty sure that he likes what he sees and he likes the results, and this is what he deserves. He has built a fantastic club and I’m a part of this club.

‘We try to make him happy and we try to make ourselves happy, so we have the same goals. It’s fine.’

Chelsea take on Manchester City inthe Champions League final later this month, but also in the Premeir League on Saturday evening in an extremely busy time for them.

Having already beaten Fulham and Real Madrid this month, the Blues play six more times before the end of May as they look to cement their top four spot and lift two huge trophies against Leicester at Wembley and City in Istanbul.

Tuchel has explained the draining nature of the schedule also comes with the positive of building momentum with positive results.

‘The downside is, we have more games to come in between,’ said the Chelsea boss. ‘It’s in a way harder to keep the focus.

‘The upside of it is that you gain confidence and you have this extreme positive experience together, which gives you a certain glue. It strengthens the bond in the dressing room.

‘There are ups and downs but the upside is clearly more. We feel strong enough to translate this power and confidence into our race for the top four.’
