Rafi Goodwin was subjected to anti-Semitic abuse when he was attacked on Sunday

Two men have been charged after a rabbi was attacked so badly outside a synagogue he needed hospital treatment.

Rafi Goodwin was in his car when two teenagers blocked his path and started shouting anti-Semitic abuse before attacking his car in Chigwell, Essex, on Sunday.

In a statement, Essex Police said: ‘Two men have been charged in connection with an assault on a man in #Chigwell on Sunday 16 May.

‘Two pair from #Ilford are due in court today (Wednesday 19 May) each charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, robbery & religiously aggravated criminal damage.’
