One question Come Dine fans often ask, however, is whether he has any connection to a certain other actor with the surname Lamb – that is, Larry Lamb, best known as EastEnders’ Archie Mitchell.
Are the two of them actually related?
Are Dave Lamb and Larry Lamb related?
They might share a surname, but that’s the only thing that Dave and Larry have in common – as the Come Dine With me stalwart and the ex-EastEnder are not related in any way.
Dave is also no relation of sports presenter George Lamb – who is in fact Larry’s son.
Larry Lamb, 73, has had a long and successful career on both the big and small screen, appearing in the likes of Triangle, Lovejoy, Our Friends In The North, Murphy’s Law and A Touch Of Frost before EastEnders came calling.
He starred as Archie Mitchell from 2008 until Christmas 2009, when the character was murdered by Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) – and more recently was seen as a contestant on I’m A Celebrity in 2016.
While they may not be related, Larry and Dave do have Albert Square in common – as EastEnders does indeed feature on Dave’s acting CV.
He appeared in two episodes, airing on June 1 and June 3, all the way back in 2004.
He played a bouncer in the soap – although his character, unfortunately, doesn’t appear to have had a name.
Come Dine With Me airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 5pm.
