Footballer James Bailey’s (Nathan Graham) first storyline in Coronation Street looked at his sexuality. James has come out to his family, but one thing he’s yet to do is tell the public about his sexuality, but that’s all set to change.
James’ manager tells him Tommy Orpington is retiring and he’d like to promote him into his place.
As James shares his good news with Ronnie (Vinta Morgan), he finds Danny (Dylan Brady) at the bar.
As they catch up over lunch, a couple of lads take photos of James and Danny.
Danny reveals he’s been offered a job in France which prompts James to suggest they give things another go.
However, when James admits it would have to be their secret, Danny heads out.
As the pictures of him and Danny circulate online along with some derogatory comments about his sexuality, James takes the stage at his promotion press conference.
James is asked awkward questions about his private life and as he steals himself, James finally tells the truth.
James looks to his family and taking strength from them, announces he’s gay.
As the journalists bombard him with questions, how will James respond?
Can he finally live a comfortable, free and happy life?
