President Joe Biden is reportedly set to announce an executive order requiring all federal workers in the executive branch to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Biden will also apparently sign a second order imposing the rule on employees of contractors doing business with the government, a source with knowledge on the matter told ABC News on Thursday morning.

The president is scheduled to deliver remarks on his plan to boost Covid-19 vaccinations and stop the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant at 5pm ET. The White House indicated he would lay out a six-part strategy to combat the strain, but did not specify if he would issue vaccination mandates for schools and the private sector.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said during her briefing on Wednesday that Biden would ‘outline the next phase in the fight against the virus and what that looks like, including measures to work with the public and private sector’.
