The Arsenal captain was left on the bench last Sunday after he arrived late at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners went on to secure a 2-1 victory over Jose Mourinho’s side, while Arteta and Aubameyang have both insisted this week that the situation has now been resolved.
And Moyes believes Arteta made the right decision by leaving Aubameyang on the sidelines.
‘Where do you think he learnt that from?’ said Moyes, who managed Arteta during their time together at Everton.
‘In the industry we are in, this job is really tough. Nowadays it is hard enough for the managers.
‘If you don’t work and go along with the things, then you’ll not be there. It doesn’t matter how good you are.
‘It is like any business or anyone, people who work in their job, if you don’t do the right things, or if you don’t get your work in on time, or you don’t turn up on time, you will soon feel things coming down on you.
‘So in the football club it is even more important, because we have to make sure we keep control of a lot of players with big egos, big personalities.
‘He made the right decision Mikel, didn’t he, and always it will be the results which judge your decisions.
‘Whether he had won or lost, it was the right decision.’
