Anthony Martial’s injury is not serious, claims Didier Deschamps (AFP via Getty)
Didier Deschamps has played down the severity of Anthony Martial’s injury after the
Manchester United forward was forced off in France’s win over Kazakhstan on Sunday.
Martial was forced off with a knee problem during France’s 2-0 victory and the 25-year-old could be seen grimacing as he left the pitch.
But despite his injury, Martial has not returned to United and has remained with France’s squad for treatment.
And Deschamps has refused to rule Martial out of his side’s World Cup qualifier against Bosnia on Wednesday evening.
‘Anthony has a small issue on his knee. Nothing is decided yet,’ Deschamps said on Tuesday.
‘He won’t be taking part in the training session a bit later. We’ll see tomorrow.
‘Anything serious has been dismissed. We’ve run some tests, but there’s still the pain, and having travelled as long as we have, that hasn’t helped.’

Deschamps also insists that Paul Pogba is in line to start the game having only recently returned from a thigh injury earlier this month.
‘He started the last game, so that should answer it. If I started him in the last game, it’s because I thought he could start,’ said Deschamps.
‘He needs time to find his rhythm, but he feels good. As games go by, it’ll allow him to improve.’
