Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg was spotted driving to Trump Tower, where the company is based, on Tuesday. The images first reported by the Daily Mail were a sharp contrast to photos of him at New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan on Thursday, when he showed up in handcuffs.
Weisselberg going to work suggests he will not ‘flip’ and testify against Trump, whom he worked more than four decades for, and cooperate with New York prosecutors.
The Trump Organization, Trump Payroll Corporation and Weisselberg were charged with criminal tax fraud, a scheme to defraud, conspiracy and falsifying business records. Weisselberg additionally faces charges of grand larceny as well as offering a false instrument for filing.
Weisselberg, wearing a gray suit, walked into the Manhattan courtroom with his hands behind his back in cuffs. He, the Trump Organization and payroll corporation all pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Trump Organization’s CFO had surrendered to the Manhattan district attorney’s office on Thursday morning hours before his arraignment. He forfeited his passport and walked out of court and stepped into a waiting SUV.
In a statement right after the court hearing, Trump ripped the indictments.
‘The political Witch Hunt by the Radical Left Democrats, with New York now taking over the assignment, continues,’ Trump stated. ‘It is dividing our Country like never before!’
At a rally in Sarasota on Saturday, Trump seemed to admit pieces of evidence lodged against Weisselberg.
‘They go after good, hard-working people for not paying taxes on a company car,’ Trump said.
