‘Don’t wear face masks, they shrunk my manhood,’ man warns shoppers

An anti-masker has urged people not to wear a face covering because it shrunk his manhood.

Customer service workers, who have been left to impose strict coronavirus rules, often have to deal with non-cooperative and sometimes abusive people.

In a crackdown on rule-breakers, Mercia’s police safer neighbourhood team has revealed just some of their worst cases to Staffordshire Live

In one bizarre incident, a man told customers in a South Derbyshire store that they should not wear face masks because his manhood got smaller after wearing one.

Equally as ridiculous, another middle-aged man said face masks had reduced his IQ.

Along with this misleading claim, the man was ‘argumentative and belligerent’ and ‘caused upset’.

An ‘entitled’ elderly woman was also called out for ‘screeching that she’d been vaccinated and therefore did not need to wear a face-covering’ before pushing past an employee.

Speaking directly to her, the neighbourhood police team said: ‘Please think about others who are yet to receive a vaccine. Your abrasive manner did not go unnoticed.’

Protestor with a sign reading: 'It was never about health. It's about control'. A man told shoppers in South Derbyshire not to wear face masks because they shrunk his manhood.

A whole group of construction workers were banned from a rural village shop for flat-out refusing to wear a mask.

They also did not comply with the shop’s one-in-one-out rule.

The police force is particularly concerned about people not taking coronavirus regulations seriously because the UK is struggling with the spread of the Delta variant, first identified in India.

The highly-infectious variant has already caused Boris Johnson to delay ‘Freedom Day’ from June 21 to July 19.

The force said: ‘With the emergence of the Delta variant, our message remains clear. Please respect grocery and hospitality workers – and if asked to wear a mask, unless you have an exemption, please put one on, even if you have been vaccinated.’

Recent video footage showed anti-lockdown protesters chase and intimidate Newsnight political editor Nicholas Watt on Monday afternoon.

The Prime Minister has since condemned the behaviour, tweeting: ‘Disgraceful to see the hounding of Nick Watt doing his job.

‘The media must be able to report the facts without fear or favour – they are the lifeblood of our democracy.’

Since the start of the pandemic, the world’s chosen solutions – lockdowns, social distance and face masks – has been a point of contention for many people.

Many have concerns over the Government having power to enforce such freedom-curtailing restrictions on people’s lives, while others see the restrictions as democratically passed measures to save lives.
