Will all of the residents be unscathed? (Picture: BBC)
There’s danger ahead as upcoming episodes of EastEnders will see a huge explosion in Albert Square.
Janine (Charlie Brooks) is back, her daughter Scarlett is causing trouble and as a fire starts in Phil’s (Steve McFadden) house, will everyone survive?
Let’s take a look at who’s involved in the upcoming scenes and who may not make it out of the ordeal alive…
Hold up, Janine can’t die…can she?
Well, as much as it would be a shock, upcoming spoilers tell us Janine is set to get caught in the middle of this fire horror.
Finding Tommy and Scarlett, Janine tries to get them to leave Tommy’s bedroom, but she’s stunned when Tommy locks them all inside and throws the key down a crack in the floorboards.

As they realise Phil’s house is on fire, Tommy, Janine and Scarlett all scramble to reach the key.
But as the fire rises, it leads to the huge explosion.
Will Janine make it out alive?
We haven’t seen her for a while, perhaps she has changed, and she’s set to die trying to save Scarlett and Tommy’s lives?
Tommy or Scarlett
Yes, as we mentioned above, Tommy – who’s spent days convinced he can save Scarlett from foster care – will find himself at the centre of this fire storyline.
Knowing Scarlett is his sister and not cousin, Tommy wants to do all he can to ensure his sibling doesn’t live a terrible life with Janine or in care.
But will his desperate attempts cause him to die in the fire?
Or, if we think from a darker perspective…could Janine leave Tommy to die?
It certainly wouldn’t be an EastEnders autumn stunt without Phil involved…but are these upcoming scenes Steve McFadden’s final ones as hardman Phil?
Following Shirley’s (Linda Henry) confrontation, Phil is lying unconscious with the flames surrounding him.
He’ll wake up, struggling to breathe, but can he make it out of his burning home?
Or will Shirley hitting him over the head with a bat (no, really) mean Phil isn’t strong enough to escape?
Callum and Ben
Can Phil be saved? (Picture: BBC)
Callum (Tony Clay) and Ben’s (Max Bowden) lives will also be in danger soon as they discover Phil’s house is burning.
As they get closer to the building, the smoke and flames start to engulf the house and are dangerously close to a gas cannister.
If Callum and Ben head inside on the impression Phil is trapped, will they also find themselves stuck inside when the explosion goes off?
If Phil makes it out, will Callum and Ben go in to try and save Janine, Tommy and Scarlett?
Most importantly, will they both make it out unharmed?
Kheerat killed? (Picture: BBC)
Kheerat (Jaz Deol) will find himself confronted by Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) soon.
On the anniversary of Chantelle’s death, Kheerat leaves flowers outside Gray’s.
When Gray discovers what Kheerat has done, he marches over. However, it turns out Kheerat is somewhat distracted as he’s noticed the fire.
Kheerat and Gray both head over and up the stairs, but could Gray use this as a chance to murder Kheerat?
If the explosion goes off and Kheerat is trapped, will Gray leave him to die?
Potentially playing the hero, Gray will join Kheerat as they try and save those still trapped in the building.
But when the explosion goes off, could Gray’s life come to an end?
On the same day he murdered his wife?
Now this is EastEnders, surprises happen left, right and centre, perhaps none of these characters will die in the fire, but instead it’s someone completely unexpected?
With Louisa Lytton’s maternity leave looming, Ruby’s final scenes will air soon, but could the character’s exit from the show actually be permanent if she dies in the fire?
Plenty of twists are on the way over the next few weeks, will Ruby find herself trapped in the burning building?
Let’s not forget her sister died in a fire, and
recent quotes from Kate Oates reveal: ‘Jean is intent on bringing Ruby down and on clearing Stacey’s name and so Ruby is going to come to a slightly sticky end!’, perhaps history will repeat itself?
Will Martin (James Bye) be left heartbroken to lose his wife in this fire?
