Katy Lewis (Simone Lahbib) will make an emphatic return to EastEnders next week ahead of her trial.

The abuser is facing a lengthy stretch behind bars, after Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) reported her to the police for assaulting him when he was 12 years old.

Mick, desperate for justice, writes his victim impact statement in scenes next week, just as Nancy (Maddy Hill) shows up.

Nancy tells her dad that she loves living with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), but when she realises that Linda (Kellie Bright) isn’t there, she comes clean, admitting that it’s an awful experience.

She offers Mick some words of encouragement regarding finishing his statement, and – spurred on by his daughter – the patriarch does just that.

Little does he know, however, that Katy is standing outside The Queen Vic.

Frankie (Rose Ayling-Ellis) soon finds out, as she sets her sights on Katy – and she’s left speechless!

Shirley (Linda Henry) explains that Mick’s victim impact statement should be enough to get Katy convicted – something which leaves Frankie a little tearful.

Frankie later crosses paths with her mum, who pleads with her to provide her with a character reference!

Frankie is conflicted, and later, she lies to Shirley, claiming that she denied Katy her wish.

The court case arrives later in the week, and Mick is adamant that he himself must read his own statement.

The question is: will Katy be sent to prison? What’s more, where do Frankie’s loyalties truly lie?

One to watch: Monday May 17 at 8:05pm on BBC One.
