EastEnders spoilers: Stacey destroyed as she tells Lily she’s going to prison

(Picture BBC)

Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) broke down in tears in EastEnders, as she told Lily that she’s going to prison in the wake of Ruby Allen’s (Louisa Lytton) cruel lies.

Ruby, jealous of the bond between Stacey and Martin Fowler (James Bye), lied to the police, claiming that Stacey had pushed her down the stairs.

Stacey, as a result, is facing a stint in prison — in spite of the fact that she didn’t actually do anything wrong.

Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) did her utmost to prevent her daughter from having to spend time behind bars, as she pleaded with Ruby to drop the charges, revealing that she is dying.

Tonight’s double-bill saw Ruby agree to Jean’s request, realising it’s not fair to punish a dying woman when she needs her family around her.

Ruby attempted to get in touch with DS Barnes to no avail, and thus she headed off to her hospital appointment.

There was more devastation in store for the young woman, however, as she learned from the consultant that there is a possibly she might have endometriosis, which can affect her fertility.

Ruby, heartbroken, told Jean that she might not be able to have children, before claiming that she attempted to retract her statement, but it was simply too late to do so.

However, after Jean left, Ruby was seen making a call to DS Barnes, informing her that she no longer needed to speak to her.

Upon learning that Ruby was ‘unable’ to drop the charges, Stacey was devastated, and decided to tell Lily the truth.

Lily, heartbroken, pleaded with her mum to fight, but Stacey was gutted, and left in tears, before breaking down outside in the rain.
