Eid al-Fitr 2021: Best greetings, quotes, blessings, and sayings

After a month-long fast, Muslims across the globe will be looking forward to celebrating the end of Ramadan with Eid al-Fitr.

This year, Eid will fall somehwere between May 12 and May 14, depending on where in the world you are – this is because the end of Ramadan is judged by the first sighting of the crescent moon.

Most UK Muslims will be marking it today.

Eid al-Fitr is a very important date in the Islamic calendar, with Muslims marking the festival through prayer, feasting, sharing gifts and giving to charity.

If you have friends, family or neighbours celebrating, you can say ‘Eid Mubarak’, which translates as ‘have a blessed Eid’ in English.

But what else can you say to celebrate or mark the special significance of Eid al-Fitr?

Greetings, quotes and sayings to mark Eid al-Fitr 2021

‘Litanzil ‘alaykum barakat Allah fi Eid al-Fitr hatha’ – This is Arabic and translates as May God’s blessings be showered on you on this Eid al-Fitr

May God give you happiness of heaven above. Happy Eid Mubarak To You All.

‘May this special day bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to everyone. Eid Mubarak’

May Allah blessings be with you today, tomorrow and always. Eid Mubarak

If someone says ‘Eid Mubarak’ to you, it is polite to respond by saying ‘Khair Mubarak’.

You could also reply with ‘Jazak Allah Khair’ which means ‘May Allah reward you with goodness.’
