The 45-year-old delighted fans by sharing a picture from her and Jade’s big day, with the caption: ‘Mr and Mrs Jones!’
Emma wore a short white dress with a tulle cape that extended into a train, and wore a flower crown in her hair, while Jade, 42, wore a tan Gucci blazer, cream chinos and a brown trilby hat.
Other snaps saw the couple standing beneath a flower arch with candles on the ground, while Emma also flashed her garter.
Famous friends including former bandmates Victoria Beckham, Mel B and Mel C, Ant and Dec, Laura Whitmore, Jamie Theakston, Ashley Roberts, Nicole and Natalie Appleton, Kimberley Walsh, Keith Lemon and Amanda Holden left messages of congratulations under the post.
It’s been a long time coming for the couple, who have been together for 23 years and engaged for 10.
Here’s the timeline of Emma and Jade’s love story.
Emma was at the height of fame with the Spice Girls and Jade was touring with Damage when they first began dating in 1998.
They split in 1999 before reuniting in 2000, after Emma had a brief relationship with Rio Ferndinand; however, they split for the second time in 2002, with rumours circulating that Jade opposed Emma’s decision to work with Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller on her solo career.
However, the singer denied this, saying: ‘It was a mutual and amicable break-up. We’ve decided to concentrate on our careers.
‘There have been no arguments. I’m delighted Simon is managing her, he’s very successful. Emma and I will always be friends.’
Emma was briefly linked to Justin Timberlake during their time apart, but the love between these two popstars was too strong, and in 2004, Emma and Jade reunited for good.
Emma and Jade’s family grows
In January 2007, the couple confirmed that they were expecting their first child together, and in August, their first son Beau was born.
The pair were constantly followed by engagement rumours, but Emma said they didn’t feel compelled to formalise their relationship.
She told the Mail in 2010: ‘It’s not on the agenda; we don’t even talk about it. We’ve been together for ten years and we’re so close – we share the childcare rather than have a nanny so we’re often together 24/7.
‘I can honestly say that we’re really happy, so we don’t feel the need to formalise it.’
Jade pops the question
Seven years after they reunited and 13 years after they first started dating, Jade proposed to Emma on her 35th birthday, on January 21, 2011.
Emma confirmed the news on Twitter, posting a picture of her diamond ring with the caption: ‘Yahooooo I’m Engaged! Love you Jade! I’m a very happy lady!!’
She made the announcement during the break of Dancing On Ice, on which she was a judge, with Philip Schofield saying when the show returned: ‘Breaking news! Emma has just announced her engagement! Just during the break then.’
Holly Willoughby said: ‘You’ve got a baby on the way and now a fiancée!’, with Emma, who was pregnant with her son Tate, saying: ‘I know! I’m a very, very happy lady. It’s amazing! Thanks you so much.’
A very long engagement
Emma and Jade remained engaged ever since 2011, but never quite got around to planning a wedding.
When asked by Zoe Ball in a Radio 2 interview whether she was getting married Emma, said: ‘Well, no, I’m not… no we’re not, we would love to actually and we have talked about it.
‘We try to, but we want it to be private, every time we try it’s out there. We want to do it privately on our own.’
She added: ‘We should elope, but we can’t organise anything Jade and me, we’ve been together 21 years in this business.’
Emma and Jade get a marriage license
In 2019, Emma was pictured at a register office in Enfield, where she picked up a marriage license meaning she and Jade would have 12 months to get married.
The pair were believed to have been getting hitched at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall, but a wedding in the next year didn’t materialise.
