The Euro 2020 final is very nearly upon us – with England facing off against Italy.

Making the final is big news for any team, but for the Three Lions, it’s one for the history books as it’s their first major tournament final since 1966’s World Cup victory.

Could Euro 2020 be the start of a new chapter for England’s football fans? Could the streak continue into the next Euros?

We’ll have to wait a while to find out – read on to find out when the next Euros will take place, and where.

When is the next UEFA Euro tournament?

The next Euro competition is scheduled to take place from June 14 to July 14, 2024.

The Euros take place every four years.

Even though the Euro 2020 was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, they are keeping the originally planned schedule and not delaying the competition to 2025.

 Who is hosting Euro 2024?

The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship will be hosted by Germany.

It was between Germany and Turkey, with a secret ballot determining the outcome.

It will be the third time that Euro matches have been played on German soil, and the second time in reunified Germany: the former West Germany hosted the tournament in 1988, and four matches of the multi-national Euro 2020 were played in Munich.

The ten venues which will host matches at Euro 2024 are:

  • Olympiastadion, Berlin
  • Allianz Arena, Munich
  • Westfalenstadion, Dortmund
  • Arena AufSchalke, Gelsenkirchen
  • Mercedes- Benz Arena, Stuttgart
  • Volksparkstadion, Hamburg
  • Merkur Spiel-Arena, Düsseldorf
  • RheinEnergieStadion, Cologne
  • Waldstadion, Frankfurt
  • Red Bull Arena, Leipzig

Who will play at the Euros 2024?

As hosts, Germany qualified for the tournament automatically.

The 23 remaining spots will be determined through qualifying matches, with the group stage taking place from March to November 2023, and the play-offs linked with the 2022–23 UEFA Nations League in March 2024.
