Four-bed home carpeted with fake grass up for sale for £300,000

From the outside, this four-bedroom house in Cornwall looks like any other… (Picture: moveincornwall.co.uk)

We’ve heard of a trend for bringing the outside in, but typically that’s just about having big windows or adding some plants to your living room.

Whoever owns this particular house, now being sold for £299,950, has taken a different approach: artificial grass throughout.

The four-bedroom home, in St Austell, Cornwall, looks perfectly average from the outside, with an Astroturf front garden greeting you from the street.

But the unusual bit becomes apparent when you open the door: that artificial grass continues inside the house, in place of a carpet and even dotted on the some of the windowsills.

Fake grass is on the floor of the conservatory, the hallway, and even going into the bathroom.

What’s even more odd is that there’s no mention of this design choice in the property’s description.

Instead, the ad describes the home as ‘deceptive, spacious, and versatile’, noting that it would be ‘ideal for two family accommodation’.

Let’s break down the interiors, beyond the faux greenery.

Enter on the ground floor and you’ll find a kitchen and breakfast room, two double bedrooms, a utility room, a lounge, a conservatory, and a bathroom.

From the photos, we can spy that the AstroTurf is in the utility room (peek it underneath the washing machine), the conservatory, the hall, and that lower-ground bathroom.

You can see it leads into the downstairs bathroom (Picture: moveincornwall.co.uk)

Once you go upstairs, though, we think you’re out of fake grass territory. Up here there’s another lounge, two more double bedrooms, another kitchen, another utility room, and a large bathroom. No grass is visible here, just carpet and wood.

Head outside and you’ll find – you guessed it – more Astroturf.

The garden also has a greenhouse and some real, living plants.

If you’re especially keen on feeling (fake) grass under your feet, this house could be your dream. If you’re keen, you can find out more through the listing.
