Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young bought lunch for all of the poll workers at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Hawks’ home arena was used as a polling location during the 2020 election.
This was a great gesture by Trae Young. The Hawks certainly have a great player in their building, both on and off the basketball court.
Trae Young was one of the athletes who helped establish the voting rights advocacy group “More Than A Vote” with Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James. The Hawks All-Star continues to use his immense platform to instill change in America.
During the 2019-20 NBA season, Trae Young averaged 29.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game for the Hawks while shooting 43.7 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 86.0 percent from the free-throw line.
Atlanta, though, finished the campaign with the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference before games were suspended in March due to COVID-19.
Moving forward, the Hawks must surround Trae Young and big man John Collins with more talent if the franchise wants to make the playoffs. Basketball fans around the world are itching to see Young in the postseason since he’s one of the most exciting players in the league with the ball in his hands.
In 141 NBA games, Trae Young has put up averages of 23.6 points, 3.9 boards and 8.6 assists.
