Holby City spoilers: Will Cameron’s bomb explode and who dies?

Lives are in danger (Pictures: BBC)

There’s a big bomb in the Holby City basement, but when the episode starts the only person who knows this is Cameron (Nic Jackman) – and he’s lying on an operating table with Eli (Davood Ghadami) and Chloe (Amy Lennox) trying to save his life, after he was run over by an ambulance at the end of the last episode.

Eli is tense because he’s hoping he’ll still be able to use Cameron as a subject for his stent trial – if he can keep him alive. What nobody knows is that the bomb is ticking away and the fate of the entire hospital rests on whether it’s discovered before it’s too late. Keeping Cameron alive is the best hope they have.

Meanwhile, Bernie (Jemma Redgrave) has a worried wait to find out whether her son will survive. Yes, Bernie is real and not just a figment of Cameron’s imagination. But where has she been since she was declared killed in action in a war zone? Will she ever get the chance to explain everything to Cameron?

In AAU, one of Ange (Dawn Steele)’s unborn twins needs a life-saving blood transfusion. As the procedure gets underway, Ange has her hands full keeping Josh (Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge) calm, as he’s so anxious about Ange and the babies. He’d be even more anxious if he knew about the massive bomb in the basement.

What is Jeni really capable of? (Picture: BBC)

And Lucky Simpson (Vineeta Rishi) is becoming increasingly suspicious about Jeni (Debra Stephenson) defrauding the hospital’s charitable donations. She tries to get Evie (Phoebe French) to confide in her, and even takes her suspicions about Jeni’s activities to Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw).

We’ve already seen how ruthless Jeni can be when she has to protect her own interests, and when Lucky gets close to the truth, she finds out exactly what Jeni is capable of.

The whole episode builds up to a massively tense ending that will once again have you counting the days until it’s Tuesday again.
