Holly Willoughby urged Piers Morgan to ‘meditate’ after GMB exit

Holly Willoughby reached out to Piers Morgan urging him to ‘offset some anger’ in the wake of his exit from Good Morning Britain.

Piers sensationally quit the programme last month after he sparked a record number of Ofcom complaints about his comments on Meghan Markle’s mental health. He had also clashed on air with co-star Alex Beresford, storming off set.

He will be replaced by Adil Ray throughout April.

The presenter has written a diary for Mail On Sunday revealing that some of his showbiz pals have been supporting him ‘in my hour of jobless need’.

He wrote that the This Morning host was ‘concerned about my blood pressure’ and asked him if he meditates, recommending an online course.

Piers said: ‘Holly then sent me a link to one that costs £249 for seven hours of meditation technique training live-broadcasted to my home which would include advice on “managing difficult situations”, “nailing interviews” and “making hangovers less horrible”.

‘And I’d even get my own personal meditation sound to repeat softly in my head! This would apparently all ensure I am “no longer ruled by my emotions”.’

The father-of-four added: ‘Problem is that I can’t imagine anything more boring than not being ruled by my emotions.’

The Life Stories host is set to sit down with Fox News for a tell all interview – his first since quitting Good Morning Britain – with Piers announcing ‘Time for America to hear MY truth…’

ITV chief Kevin Lygo has since described the TV star as ‘irreplaceable’.

The 63-year-old said: ‘You can’t replace somebody like him. There is nobody like Piers, for good or bad,’ he said.

Speaking to Deadline, he stated: ‘We have a roster of presenters, including Ben [Shephard], Susanna [Reid], Charlotte [Hawkins], and Kate [Garraway]. They’re all stepping up and doing a few more days than they would have done…’

Kevin added that the broadcaster will ‘mix and match’ hosts until they feel they have found a solution.

‘We’ll mix and match until we feel what the right thing is to do. There isn’t a single person [who can replace him],’ he said.
