Horror crash leaves woman, 35, dead and man, 37, fighting for life

A woman has died and a man is fighting for his life following a horrific road crash in East Sussex.

The 37-year-old man was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries after the white Ford Fiesta he was driving flipped over and came off the A27 near Pevensey.

His passenger, a 35-year-old woman, was declared dead at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics to save her.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The woman, from Bexhill, East Sussex, and the man, from St Leonards-on-Sea, were driving from the Stone Cross roundabout towards the Wallsend roundabout. 

Surrey and Sussex Roads Policing Unit’s Sergeant Richard Hobbs said: ‘This is a tragic incident and we are seeking witnesses as to what happened.’
