James Harden has become one of the best players in Houston Rockets history after all the records he has set and the great performances he’s had with the team since he landed in the city eight years ago from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Harden is the face of the Rockets right now and the team still has high hopes for him for this season and the next to come.
The Beard has blossomed into a great scorer, being considered one of the greatest of all time, alongside people like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant. Harden has been enchanting people in recent years and he owns one record that will be extremely hard to break for anybody that wears the Rockets uniform in the future.
On January 22, after he dropped 61 points on the New York Knicks, Harden joined an exclusive club with Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Elgin Baylor as the only players with multiple 60-point games in NBA history, according to StatMuse.
That game also helped Harden own 9 of the 10 highest scoring games in Houston Rockets’ history. Calvin Murphy scored 58 points against the New Jersey Nets in 1978 to rank 8th on this list. The rest belongs to the Beard, who scored 61 points twice in his career.
Something remarkable is that six of the first seven games took place within 3 months. He was on fire in 2019, that’s for sure. Harden will try to lift the Rockets next season and see if they can compete with a new head coach, a new system and new players.
