JLS star JB Gill is said to be ‘safe and well’ after a group of thugs stormed his family home and reportedly threatened his wife with a knife.
The 33-year-old singer was at the farmhouse he shares with wife Chloe, 32, and their two children when he was confronted by the robbers at around 3am.
According to The Sun, JB was sprayed in the face with an unknown substance and Chloe was threatened with a knife.
A spokesperson for JB told Metro.co.uk: ‘JB and his wife had hoped to keep details of the incident private in order to safeguard their young family.
‘They are all well and safe having increased home security.’
The thieves reportedly made off with valuables after fleeing the property and a police investigation is underway.
A source told the publication: ‘This was a terrifying incident…
‘[JB] wanted to protect her and their kids but the best way to do that was to cooperate with the gang.
‘Police and medics rushed to the house and JB was taken to hospital. Luckily, he wasn’t badly hurt and was able to leave later that day.’
After JLS announced their retirement in 2013, JB left his pop career to become a farmer and moved into a property with Chloe where they rear livestock.
Opening up about his quieter lifestyle, the Beat Again singer previously said in an interview: ‘The pop star lifestyle is full-on. You don’t get much time off so I wanted somewhere peaceful I could escape to.
‘Here became the perfect place to relax and recharge.’It’s the ideal place for them [his family] to enjoy the British countryside.’
