Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly identified Jude Bellingham as his ‘top transfer target’ and would be willing to push for a club record move for the midfieder.

The teenager only turned 18 in June but he has already racked up an incredible amount of experience at the highest level.

After bursting onto the scene for Birmingham City, Borussia Dortmund paid £25m for him in 2020 and he has since made 51 appearances for the German club, scoring give goals.

With 95 first team appearances to his names already, and eight caps for England, he is mature way beyond his years and Liverpool are reportedly keen to bring his unique characteristics to the Premier League.

The Daily Star report that Bellingham is the player Klopp wants to bring to Anfield above any other and is keen to encourage an £80m move for the Dortmund star.

The report states that Bellingham is in no rush to leave Dortmund where he is a regular in the first team, starting three Bundesliga games already this season.

However, he knows he is likely to return to England at some stage and play in the Premier League for the first time.

Whether that will be next summer and if Dortmund can be persuaded to part with the wonderkid is yet to be seen as they are under no pressure to sell.

The teenager signed a contract extension earlier this year keeping him at Dortmund until 2025, so it would take an enormous offer to tempt them into selling.

Bellingham has another fan at Anfield other than Klopp, with captain Jordan Henderson singing his praises while on international duty.

‘He is miles ahead of where I was at that age, to be honest,” Henderson said. ‘So I would just say to him keep doing what you are doing. Keep working hard and just stay focused on what you want to achieve.

‘I would say he has already got that focus and he has got good people around him to keep his feet on the ground. He needs to concentrate on that and stay fit.

‘He is already a top player and he will continue to go from strength to strength over the next few years.’
