Katie Price has recalled how she considered suicide at the height of her drug use but credits her children for ‘saving my life’.

The My Crazy Life star quit drugs and alcohol at the start of last year after checking into The Priory clinic for treatment.

It tragically could have been a different story as Katie, 42, admits she thought of taking her own life. However, she then reminded herself that her five children; Harvey, 18, Junior, 15, Princess, 13, Jett, seven, and Bunny, six, need her.

Opening up about her personal struggles as she celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday, Katie told The Sun: ‘I can’t imagine not being a mum – it’s what I live for. My kids basically saved my life to be honest.

‘I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them.

‘I wanted to commit suicide last year but the reason I didn’t, every time I’d get close I’d think of my kids faces, that’s what stopped me.’

Katie explained how she used to hear her children saying ‘no mum’ while also picturing them crying.

‘If I didn’t have my kids I wouldn’t be here,’ she admitted.

Katie added: ‘Harvey wouldn’t know what to do without me – it would be my worst nightmare.’

The former Loose Women host recently marked her one-year of sobriety and revealed she now feels ‘embarrassed’ by her past drink and drugs habit.

‘Since I’ve been out of The Priory, I have not drunk nothing [sic],’ Katie said on Fubar Radio’s Access All Areas.

She continued: ‘And now I’ve forgotten what it’s like to drink, and that’s not like me because I’m quite sociable and stuff. Then obviously I was into the coke because I was self-medicating.

‘When I look at it all now I’m like, oh my God, I’m a completely different person now. What the hell?

‘I’m actually embarrassed as to how I’ve acted and stuff, but you know, that’s part and part of mental health. You can’t help it.’
