The 24-year-old has filled in for Virgil van Dijk this season and though the Red have clearly missed the Dutchman, Phillips has impressed supporters with his all-action displays.
The former Bolton defender scored his first senior goal in a 3-0 win against Burnley last week and he’s drawn praise from Klopp in recent weeks as the side have got their Champions League qualification bid back on track.
However, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez both expect to be fit for the start of next season which would push Phillips back into the fringes at Anfield.
As well as the duo’s return, Klopp is keen on signing a new centre-back and the Reds are hopeful of agreeing a deal for Ibrahima Konate once the season is completed.
Phillips’ performances have alerted a number of Premier League clubs and the Sun claim Liverpool are open to offers for the defender.
While Klopp is a fan of Phillips’, he feels the defender’s stock will never be as high as it is now and he could fetch around £10m in the transfer window.
Klopp will be working with a tight budget this summer and though qualifying for the Champions League will help, he knows he must sell in order to complete the moves he wants to make.
As well as a new centre-back, Klopp is interested in signing a winger and could rival Manchester United for the signature of Jadon Sancho.
Dortmund want around £80m for the England star but that’s a big reduction in the £108m asking price they had last summer.
