The UK’s Covid Memorial Wall is a place to reflect on those who’ve died due to the coronavirus pandemic.

More than 150,000 people in the UK have sadly died from the disease.

As a public mural, countless volunteers have contributed to the wall’s artwork by painting thousands of pink and red hearts along it – often writing names and messages inside.

The wall is still being completed – but it has been accessible to the public since late March, and you can visit now to pay your respects.

Here’s where to go.

Where can you find the National Covid Memorial Wall?

The National Covid Memorial Wall is based in the UK capital, London.

You can find the moving tribute along the South Bank, a short walk from Westminster Bridge.

If you need to plug in an exact address on your Maps app, use: North Wing, Lambeth Palace Rd, London SE1 3FT.

The beautiful and poignant tribute was devised by the campaign group Covid-19 Bereaved Families For Justice.

The group said it wasn’t a political move, rather a way to visual representation of those who’ve been lost.

Though it has been visited by both Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer.

We don’t yet know if the mural will stay for good – though the PM has said a permanent memorial is being looked into.

How long is the National Covid Memorial Wall?

The memorial wall is, to put it simply, impressively long.

As things stand, the love hearts decorating the once-plain wall stretch out over a third of a mile. That’s 537 metres.

As mentioned, the mural is still being painted, as it’s hoped that enough hearts will be drawn to represent every life lost to Covid-19.
