With most of our travel plans set firmly for home this summer, some of us may be braving the outdoors by camping.
An activity loved by many and loathed by more; camping is far from a five-star hotel stay. The conditions are harsh, the aesthetics are almost military-like and clothing and accessories are utilitarian.
However, Zara is trying to change perceptions of camping getaways with its new outdoor range.
These are Instagram-worthy pieces for those who enjoy the finer things in life and would rather get hypothermia while looking stylish and on-brand instead of accepting practicality.
Zara is attempting to make outdoor living a chic experience. Everything is rustic elegance in product form, from utensils such as a detachable camping stove to a Nordisk tent.
Camping tea towels are decorated with bonfire and compass motifs, while the folding chairs are made from wood, leather and canvas. Meanwhile, its red portable lantern would work just as well in a house as in a tent and the portable checked cooler is perfect for keeping afternoon park drinks cool.
Prices start as low as £4.99 for an aluminium mug and go as high as £600 for the teepee-style tent, making camping in 2021 a luxury investment.
So go forth and camp, but this time, make it chic and make it fashion.
