The Red Devils boss is still without a number of players who were involved at Euro 2020 and the Copa America, so the likes of Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes will not be involved.
However, there will be some recognisable faces on display, those who haven’t been on international duty this summer.
Jesse Lingard narrowly missed out on England’s squad for the Euros and he is in contention to play after his loan spell at West Ham in the second half of last season.
Mason Greenwood was also close to making Gareth Southgate’s final squad, narrowly missing out, and he will be involved on Sunday at Pride Park.
As will Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Axel Tuanzebe, Alex Telles and Brandon Williams.
There will also be competition in goal, despite Dean Henderson and David De Gea not being involved, as Lee Grant and new signing Tom Heaton will battle for the gloves.
While that is quite a number of experienced players, Manchester United have named a few youngsters that fans can expect to see on Sunday.
Will Fish, Di’Shon Bernard, Ethan Galbraith, Joe Hugill, Matej Kovar, Shola Shoretire, Dylan Levitt, Anthony Elanga, Hannibal, Teden Mengi, Andreas Pereira, Facundo Pellistri and James Garner have all been listed on the official club website as in contention.
As are Nathan Bishop and Tahith Chong, despite having already agreed loan exits to Mansfield Town and Birmingham City respectively.
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney will be in charge of Derby for the game, which will be available to watch on MUTV at 1pm on Sunday.
