Shaw has enjoyed a remarkable season at Old Trafford and has been one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s standout performers.
Arguably his best campaign in a United shirt has been rewarded with a recall to the England squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against San Marino, Albania and Poland with United now preparing for contract talks with the left-back, The Mirror report.
Shaw has two years left on his current deal but United are now ready to offer him a new deal with improved terms.
Only Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford have registered more assists than Shaw this season with the left-back now playing an integral role at the back and going forward under Solskjaer.
The 25-year-old has not played for England since September 2018 but having been drafted back in for games next week, will hope to make an impression back on the international scene.
‘I’m extremely happy, it’s a massive honour to get selected for your country,’ Shaw told BT Sport.
‘I’ve been out of the fold for a while but I’ve always had ambitions to get back into the squad.
‘Now I’ve done that and I’m really looking forward to being there with the lads.’
