Mike Tyson looks well prepared for his return to boxing, showing off his incredible physique at 54-years-old ahead of his bout with Roy Jones Jr on 28 November.

Iron Mike is stepping into the ring for the first time in over 15 years, and while his skills will surely have diminished in that time, he has clearly put in a lot of hard work in the gym to get in fighting shape.

Tyson may not have won a fight since 2003, but he clearly intends on picking up a victory in the exhibition bout with Jones Jr, which is being fought over eight rounds in California.

Just how much of an ‘exhibition’ it will be is yet to be seen, but Tyson looks to have built up his body for power and to inflict some serious damage on the former four-weight world champion.

‘The last time I was this weight was 17 or 18 years old,’ said Tyson. ‘I’m really happy with everything I’ve been doing, it’s down to confidence and self affirmation.

‘It’s amazing, I’m just ready to do this. I can’t explain it in words.

‘I’m going to go as long as this is working. My legend is going to be that I gave a lot more than I took.’

Tyson’s old rival Evander Holyfield feels the match-up between Iron Mike and Captain Hook is going to be down to power vs pace.

Clearly Tyson has some serious power at his disposal, but Jones, who is three years younger, fought professionally as recently as two years ago and was a world champion as light as middleweight, will likely be much quicker.

‘Roy Jones has got the faster hands, but Mike has the harder shots,’ Holyfield told the Sun.

‘It will depend on how good of a condition the fighters are. If they go power to power, I know Mike Tyson has the advantage there and can beat him, but also Roy Jones has the speed and what would happen if he could catch Mike?

‘So, either way there’s some advantages on both sides. Mike was more than a street fighter or boxer. Mike was clever.

‘Mike was a student of the game of boxing. He is someone to a lot of people where you expect the unknown.

‘For his size and weight he fought hard and he was terrific.’

Tyson is the clear favourite with the bookmakers to beat Captain Hook in their highly-anticipated bout.

Jones Jr was asked whether he felt Tyson would be treating the clash as an exhibition or a proper fight and he was very clear in his response.

‘Are you crazy with this?’ Jones asked Yahoo News. ‘Of course, he is. This is Mike Tyson we’re talking about here, man. This is Mike Tyson.

‘You think he’s going to go out there and say, “Oh, I can’t hit too hard because the guy from the commission is going to be angry?” No. No way is he going to do that. This is a fight and I have to be ready for that.’
