The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 60, and Danny, 47, first met in late 2018, when they both starred in a festive pantomime production of Jack And The Beanstalk in Liverpool.
In December last year, they took part in their first joint interview and photo shoot, explaining that they share a very ‘50/50’ relationship.
Shirley has been married on two occasions before, first to Sammy Stopford from 1980 to 1984 and then to Corky Ballas from 1985 to 2007.
It looks as though a third time up the aisle could be on the cards for Shirley, as she disclosed conversations she and Danny have had about their potential nuptials.
‘We do talk about marriage. Come on, Daniel, where is the ring?’ she told The Sun.
Shirley joked that if she did marry Danny and took on the name ‘Shirley Ballas-Taylor’, she could follow in the footsteps of Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor by ‘collecting’ spouses.
‘If I married him, I think I would be Shirley Ballas-Taylor – it sounds a bit like Elizabeth Taylor and I could collect husbands like she does,’ she said.
‘After all, you can always get a divorce!’ she added, laughing.
‘She had eight marriages, didn’t she? No, I’ll just stick with Danny, but I do think it has a nice ring to it.’
The new series of Strictly Come Dancing is set to launch later this month, with Shirley rejoining the judges panel alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and new addition Anton Du Beke.
The stars in the line-up this year include McFly musician Tom Fletcher, BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, Loose Women star Judi Love, Dragons’ Den businesswoman Sara Davies and Olympic champion Adam Peaty.
Shirley joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, taking Len Goodman’s place on the panel as head judge.
Before the celebrity line-up was announced, Shirley teased the calibre of stars on the show, stating: ‘Of all panels, you have never seen celebrities as you are going to see on this particular show.’
Strictly Come Dancing 2021 launches on Saturday September 18 on BBC One.
