Snapchat adds two new astrology features

The app’s new update includes detailed astrological profiles (Picture: Snapchat)

Snapchat’s latest update was written in the stars – the app has rolled out two new astrology features.

On your 13-slide personal astrological profile, you’ll be able to read an in-depth analysis of your zodiac sign, as well as your sun, moon and rising signs.

It also shows you your dominant ‘elements’, ‘modality’ and ‘polarity’, and gives you personal readings regarding the positions of the other planets – so it’s much more detailed than your standard sun sign horoscope reading.

The second feature allows you to see how compatible you are with your friends who’ve also set up astrological profiles on Snapchat.

You’ll be able to see your respective relationship traits across different planetary dimensions, how both your birth charts intersect, and analyses on your tension, harmony and attraction.

The new features were inspired by Snapchat’s 2020 Friendship Report, which found that 31% of people felt that social distancing has led to their relationships with friends starting to fade during the Covid-19 pandemic.

To set up your astrology profile, go to your personal profile on Snapchat by tapping on your Bitmoji at the top right corner of the main camera screen. Next, tap the purple icon with your zodiac sign on it and enter your personal information when prompted.

You’ll then be able to view your shiny new astrological profile, as well as those of your friends, and how well suited you are together according to the stars. Just go to their friendship profile, tap on the zodiac sign next to their name, and have fun reading Snapchat’s analysis.

Even if you don’t take it seriously, what better way to reconnect than an astrological deep-dive into your friendship?
