The Chase’s Bradley Walsh was left stunned on Wednesday after the ‘best player ever’ on the show beat The Beast in a solo final round.

In incredible scenes, Ali won £5,000 in her cashbuilder and headed back to her team with the money.

The rest of her teammates were knocked out by Mark Labbett, but Ali wasn’t deterred when it came to the final round.

Showing incredible quizzing skills, Ali managed to get a very impressive 19 points in the final chase.

Mark slipped up on a few questions as the chase went down to the wire.

The Chaser was asked: ‘Which romantic poet wrote Endymion?’

He incorrectly answered ‘Kelly’, allowing Ali to push him back with the answer ‘Keats’.

The next question saw Bradley ask: ‘The Arno is the main river of which Italian region?’

After Mark guessed incorrectly, Ali was able to push him back even further after answering ‘Tuscany’.

Eventually Mark ran out of time, and Ali won the cash all on her own.

‘I won!’ she said, disbelievingly.

‘You did, six opportunities to push back, four taken, the Chaser needed two – nailed it!’ Bradley said.

Mark was impressed after the result, saying: ‘You know, five minutes ago I didn’t think it was going to be this hard work.’

‘Give her a hug from me,’ he added. ‘You put me under the pressure, so well played.’

Viewers took to Twitter to send Ali their congratulations after she took home the money, calling her the ‘best player ever’.

‘ALI HAS WON!!! And there isn’t a dry eye in the house,’ one said.

‘One of the best final chases ever! What a performance Ali!,’ another added.

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Paul Sinha has pulled out of the upcoming series of Beat The Chasers due to illness.

The 50-year-old quiz whizz, who has Parkinson’s disease, explained on Twitter that he was too ill to take part in filming.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
