However, for those who want to stay put in bustling cities (particularly with restrictions lifting soon), new research has shed light on some of the best locations for prioritising this nourishing lifestyle.
A new study by CIA Landlords has identified the best and healthiest cities in the world to raise a family.
The research took a whole host of factors into account, including costs of rent, childcare and bills alongside the number of schools, attractions, quality of life and pollution, to determine both the 20 healthiest cities globally, as well as the 20 best cities within the UK.
And, perhaps unsurprisingly, Scandinavian countries have come out on top in the world rankings – with Finland, Norway, Iceland and Denmark all making it into the top 10.
Helsinki ranks first as the healthiest city to raise a family, taking into account happiness, quality of life, crime rate, pollution and the cost of childcare per month.
Its happiness index is a solid rating of 7.8 out of 10 and childcare ranks as one of the cheapest in the study, at £202 per month. In addition to this, it boasts a low crime rate rate (23 out of 100) and 15 out of 100 on the pollution index.
Oslo follows behind in second place with similar statistics to Helsinki, whereas Bern in Swizterland takes third place.
