Your fitness tracker or running app should show your steps per minute (your cadence) and, handily, platforms like Spotify already have playlists organised by BPM, so you can find tracks that match your strike and queue them up.
This means you can set and maintain your pace to the beat of the music.
You can also use BPM to play with the speed of your runs – so if you want to practice sprinting or improve your time, simply select a playlist with higher BPM. If you want to take a more leisurely jog, then go for songs with less.
It’s also a great way to keep your running consistent, to ensure you’re not overdoing it by running harder than intended and causing injury.
Of course, if you’re looking for more ways to run faster, it’s important to mix things up and not do the same route every time and to also prioritise strength training.
