Caroline Flack’s mum Christine has been praised by viewers after the Channel 4 documentary Her Life And Death.

The powerful hour-long programme saw Christine as well as the Love Island star’s sister Jody share their memories of Caroline and their experiences around the time of her death.

Some of Caroline’s former colleagues and friends, including Olly Murs and Dermot O’Leary, were also interviewed.

The TV presenter was 40-years-old when she took her own life last year.

Christine was seen saying: ‘I like the fact she had so many people who really liked her. You don’t know that when you’re feeling that bad, but people did like her didn’t they.’

There was a touching moment where Caroline’s family revealed a bench they had had made in tribute to her after she died.

Watching Christine break down in tears while looking at old photos of her daughters was also heart-breaking for viewers at home.

One tweet read: ‘How brave are Caroline’s mum and sister, talking about the many suicide attempts of Caroline even before she was famous, such a hard thing to have dealt with in all their lives, so desperately sad.’

Another said: ‘Watching her mum and sister talk throughout that documentary about what they’ve lost is what hit home for me. We all thought we knew Caroline Flack but her family knew her best and their life will never be the same.’

‘How her mum and sister managed to get through that is beyond me, so heartbreaking,’ read another tweet.

A further tweet read: ‘Caroline’s doc was a hard watch. Still find it weird thinking of her not here. My heart really goes out for her mum and Jody her twin.’

One viewer wrote: ‘Caroline’s family are truly remarkable. Just want to give her mum and her sister a hug’ while another said ‘How her sister n mum (especially) held that together i don’t know, extremely strong women (sic).’

Jody revealed in the film that her sister struggled with her mental health while being in the public eye.

‘I would beg her to change jobs and leave showbiz but she never would, life would have been easier but she wasn’t built for an easy life,’ she said.

‘She was always scared she’d be ridiculed, she was terrified to admit her mental health struggles.’

Before the documentary aired, Caroline’s family said they hoped that speaking out would encourage others who are battling depressing to talk to their loved ones.
