What is wrong with Sid in Hollyoaks and what happens to him?

Sid has been troubled lately (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Sid Sumner’s (Billy Price) life is set to be forever changed in Hollyoaks this week, after a chain of events lead to devastating, life-changing consequences for the character.

Flashforward scenes in recent episodes have given us the idea that all is not well, with Sid looking emotional and upset – but it hasn’t been quite clear why.

It follows months of danger, crime and manipulation, with Sid and Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw) dealing drugs to students in the village and recruiting children to do the same – but just what is wrong with Sid? And what’s going to happen to him?

Here’s what you need to know…

What is wrong with Sid in Hollyoaks?

Sid has been incredibly worried that his cousin Jordan (Connor Calland), who has been orchestrating the drug dealing, will discover that it was him who reported him to the police.

Those fears continue in the coming episodes, as not only is Jordan searching for the truth, but so is sinister Victor Brothers (Benjamin O’Mahony), who’s determined to find out who grassed on Jordan in an effort to dish out a severe punishment to them.

Jordan was arrested with intent to supply, after PC George Kiss (Callum Kerr) was given a tip-off from an anonymous source.

He was facing up to 14 years in prison, but a shock twist saw Sami Maalik (Rishi Nair) and James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) successfully get him released without charge.

The character has seemingly taken drugs during the scenes in question – and is set to suffer a life-changing injury later this week as a result.

Actor Billy Price told Metro.co.uk: ‘Sid still is and may always be head over heels for Juliet, although she doesn’t see him in that way. With Juliet climbing the ranks, their involvement within county lines is dug deeper. The stakes are higher, and the consequences are dearer.

‘Sid always seems to get himself into the worst situations, and can never catch a break, however, as we have seen over the past few months, Sid always sticks up for the people he cares for, although this time, his actions have consequences, which will change his life forever.’

Hollyoaks continues tonight on E4 at 7pm.
