Los Blancos are eager to land a marquee signing this summer with Mbappe a long-term target for the club.
The France international’s contract at Paris Saint-Germain is set to expire in the summer of 2022 and while Real remain hopeful of luring him to the Spanish capital, PSG are said to be confident he will sign a new deal.
Real are also among the clutch of sides interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland but according to SER Deportivo, Kane is now an intriguing option for the club.
According to the report, the Real Madrid hierarchy believe Kane is a more attainable target this summer, confident negotiations would be ‘easier’ than with Mbappe or Haaland.
Real are reportedly encouraged by the fact Kane’s older brother Charlie represents the striker’s interests and believe other intermediaries involved with Mbappe and Haaland could make such an operation ‘considerably more expensive’.
Real would appear to have a healthy relationship with Tottenham dating back to the transfer of Luka Modric back in 2012.
The two clubs were in business once again this summer with Spurs signing left-back Sergio Regulion in a deal which includes a buy-back option, with Gareth Bale also returning to north London on loan.
Any club hoping to prise Kane away would still be expected to pay a considerable fee for the 27-year-old, however, with recent reports claiming Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would want an offer of £120m to even consider a deal.
