The company aired another teaser for the huge event – which is coming on July 17 – featuring references to the three stars following their respective departures.
The word ‘yes’ – synonymous with Bryan in the wrestling world – flashed up on the screen, hinting at the American Dragon jumping ship after he was banished from SmackDown following his high profile loss to Roman Reigns recently.
His contract is said to have expired after that match, and it’s unclear what he’ll do next after repeatedly talking about his desire to wind down his full time in-ring career.
Meanwhile, Peyton and Billie were released from WWE last month alongside the likes of Samoa Joe, Mickie James and Chelsea Green.
Their famous II logo made a split second appearance in the teaser last night, and the pair would be a great addition to the Knockouts Tag Team Title scene.
Bullet Club and the Forgotten Sons were also referenced.
Following the releases, IMPACT’s first announcement video for Slammiversary teased the possibility of a number of stars – including Joe, Mickie and Chelsea – making the move.
Of course, this is no guarantee any of them will actually appear, but it makes perfect sense to throw out the possibility.
Last year’s Slammiversary saw the likes of Heath Slater, Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, EC3 and Eric Young all make the jump to IMPACT, so it’ll be interesting to see where things go from here.
In a brief statement on WWE.com, they said: ‘WWE has come to terms on the release of Samoa Joe, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Mickie James, Chelsea Green, Tucker, Kalisto, Bo Dallas and Wesley Blake as of today April 15, 2021.
‘We wish them the best in all of their future endeavours.’
Mojo Rawley was later added to the list.
And Chelsea seems keen on a move back to IMPACT, as she already has history with the company and her fiancé Matt Cardona is also under contract.
Explaining that she’s keeping her options open, she recently told Metro.co.uk: ‘My ideal, my vision would be to pull a Cody Rhodes and do a little bit of everything.
‘I would love that! I think that was genius of him, to get himself out there and to wrestle people he would never have been able to wrestle. That’s what I really wanna do.’
