WWE alumni Virgil has taken credit for Hulk Hogan’s entire career and claimed he created the nWo.

The retired wrestler, who was part of the group in WCW and involved with the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase during his WWE run, suggested he and boss Ted Turner were the masterminds behind the iconic New World Order group, while insisting the Hulkster owes a lot to him..

Speaking to Wrestling Inc, he said: ‘I think I made Hulk Hogan’s whole career. Ted Turner and I put together the nWo. I got paid all day. I was like a moving reindeer.’

He even took credit for the Spinaroonee – the move made popular in wrestling by Booker T – after a ‘dance off’ with Alex Wright.

He added: ‘I kicked Alex Wright’s ass in a dance off in a parking garage, and I put my foot up in his ass. He was talking s**t like he could out dance me. I had the dance off, and I shoved my foot up his ass.

‘I invented the dance called the Spinaroonee. Disco Inferno had a spin off. He spun on the ground like a donkey, and then I spanked his ass.’

Last week marked 25 years since Hogan was revealed as the third man in the nWo alongside Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, and he recently opened up about his ‘rookie error’ as he came down to the ring on Nitro.

Opening up on his decision to wear cowboy boots instead of his wrestling footwear, he told SI: ‘I immediately worried it was going to be an angle alert. I was thinking that as soon as I was headed to the ring, telling myself I was an idiot for doing it.

‘Those boots were really slippery, too, and I think you’ll see me grab the rope before I take a step and hit those leg drops on Randy.

‘Had I been wearing my wrestling boots, it would have been a much bigger production. It was such a rookie move on my part.’

It’s true that the nWo revitalised Hogan’s career – regardless Virgil’s role in that – and Paul Wight also touched on its significance.

‘Joining the nWo revived Hogan’s career,’ the former Big Show star added. ‘It’s one of those moments that you remember where you were when it happened, and it was equally as important for Kevin and Scott.’

And Nash himself shrugged off the idea that anyone could have predicted the mark the group would leave on the business.

He said: ‘There isn’t a person on this f***ing planet that had an idea it would be a tenth of what this thing turned out to be 25 years later. Anybody that says they did is full of s**t and a liar.’
